Alliance Arts and Who You have canceled the public demo of Drunken Goddess Reflux, an anime-style game that combines drinking and Russian roulette with a demonic entity. The decision was announced in a Steam update and came amid concerns that copies could be produced using artificial intelligence.

The demo was scheduled to launch publicly on October 19, but that plan has been replaced by a limited closed testing session. According to the developers, the content could allow others to quickly create experiences that imitate Drunken Goddess Reflux’s presentation and gameplay using AI or similar tools.

“We are concerned that, based on the content of the demo, works that imitate or reproduce this game’s presentation and gameplay could be produced quickly using AI or other tools and released before the game launches,” the team said.

The decision also covers the release of videos. Alliance Arts outlined restrictions on publishing and streaming gameplay, but acknowledged that it is not in a position to properly enforce those rules with the resources available. As a result, the online sessions will take place in a closed environment, open only to participants who agree in advance to the requirements and guidelines for posting or streaming gameplay footage.

The studio apologized for the last-minute change. People interested in testing the game were instructed to join the Discord server linked in the Steam post.

Described as a game of “Russian roulette with drinking glasses against a demon who loves you enough to kill you,” Drunken Goddess Reflux is still scheduled to launch on PC via Steam on December 8, 2026.
