State of Play February 2025: Full list and trailer of announced games

Sony held today (February 12, 2025) the first State of Play of the year, an event full of announcements and game trailers that promise to shake up the gaming world in the coming months. Lasting more than 50 minutes, the presentation brought news for the PlayStation 5 (PS5), including long-awaited releases, remasters, new IPs and expansions. Below, check out the full list of all the games shown at the event, with details about each one.

Monster Hunter Wilds

One of the highlights of the event, Monster Hunter Wilds has received a new launch trailer, showing epic battles against colossal creatures. The game arrives on February 28, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a free update planned for the second half of the year, including the monster Mizutsune and new missions.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance

SEGA has announced the return of the classic Shinobi franchise with a new 2D action game. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance promises hand-drawn graphics and gameplay full of ninja techniques. The game is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

The blue hedgehog is back with Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, a new racing game that lets players explore different dimensions. The title will be available early starting February 21, 2025, with a closed network test.

Digimon Story Time Stranger

Digimon fans are getting a new adventure with Digimon Story Time Stranger, a JRPG that promises an epic journey through time. It is scheduled to be released in 2025.

Lost Soul Aside

After years of waiting, Lost Soul Aside finally has a release date: May 30, 2025. The game combines fast-paced action with RPG elements and will be available for PS5 and PC.

Borderlands 4

One of the most anticipated announcements, Borderlands 4 will arrive on September 23, 2025. The game promises more action, humor and chaos, with a new planet called Kairos as its setting.

Directive 8020

Developed by the studio behind Until Dawn, Directive 8020 is a space horror thriller coming out on October 2, 2025. The game promises an engaging narrative and difficult choices.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic

The horror franchise is back with Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic, which arrives on June 13, 2025. The game promises to expand the series’ dark universe.

The Midnight Walk

The Midnight Walk is a dark fantasy adventure set in a world made entirely of clay. The game arrives on May 8, 2025 for PS5 and PSVR2, promising a unique visual experience.

Warriors: Abyss

Warriors: Abyss is now available for PS4 and PS5. The game combines classic Warriors gameplay with roguelite mechanics, where each attempt brings new challenges.

Darwin’s Paradox!

In Darwin’s Paradox!, players control an octopus in a 2.5D platformer. The title will be released on PS5 in 2025, promising a unique experience with both aquatic and terrestrial abilities.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny

The highly anticipated remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny arrives on May 23, 2025. Developed by Capcom, the game brings back the classic adventure of Jubei Yagyu, a master swordsman seeking revenge against the demon Nobunaga Oda and his army of Genma.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

The next major game in the Onimusha series, Way of the Sword, has been revealed with an impressive gameplay trailer. It is scheduled for release in 2026.

Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater Remake

The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, titled Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, was one of the highlights of the State of Play. With a release date set for August 28, 2025, the game promises to modernize the 2004 classic with stunning graphics, 3D audio, and new gameplay mechanics, while maintaining the essence of the original experience.

Lies of P: Overture

Stellar Blade + Nikke and PC debut

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

The next game from Don’t Nod, creators of Life is Strange, is coming on February 18, 2025. The game will be available in the PS Plus catalog on the day of its release.

Tides of Annihilation

Tides of Annihilation is an action-adventure game inspired by Arthurian legend. It is scheduled for release in 2025.

Metal Eden

Metal Eden is a futuristic FPS coming on May 6, 2025. The game promises intense combat in a dystopian world.

MindsEye

MindsEye is a futuristic action game that combines elements of Cyberpunk and Call of Duty. It is scheduled for release in summer 2025.

Saros

Housemarque, the studio behind Returnal, has announced its new IP, Saros, a single-player action game exclusive to PS5. It is scheduled to launch in 2026.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

A demo of the game will be available on February 21, 2025.

Splitgate 2

Alpha testing begins February 27, 2025 for PS5.

Split Fiction

A co-op game from Hazelight Studios, released on March 6, 2025.
