The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will receive a third expansion in 2027. Titled Songs of the Past, it will introduce Lettin, a new region of the Continent with monsters to hunt and stories to explore. CD Projekt Red has not announced a release date.

The goal is to make Lettin feel distinct from the areas players already know. In an interview with IGN, lead level designer Miles Tost said the team wants each region to have an identity that shapes both how it looks and how players move through it. He pointed to boat travel and Skellige's mountainous terrain as examples of that approach, but did not identify a new traversal mechanic for the expansion.

In Lettin, that identity comes through in its architecture and customs. According to Tost, the aristocracy draws on British influences, while the region's countryside takes many cues from rural Poland. Even the local drink helps define the setting: called Bracket, it combines honey and beer. Made with honey and hops found in the area, it plays an important role in Lettin's economy.

That detail also helps explain the presence of one of the new monsters. The Swarmion, shown in a demonstration, is drawn to honey and uses hornets to defend itself. For Tost, considering what exists in Lettin and what the region produces helps the team decide which creatures belong there. The same thinking extends to the stories told in its quests.

Writer Paula Meissner also discussed the team's attention to The Witcher continuity. She said the Songs of the Past team works with CD Projekt Red lore specialists who know the franchise's books, games and other material. Songs of the Past is planned for 2027, with no specific release date announced.
