Sonic the Hedgehog will be part of the next Fortnite season. The collaboration has been confirmed for Chapter 7, Season 4, titled Override, which begins on August 20, 2026.

The promotional material shows the hedgehog racing through a loop in Green Hill Zone before the scene cuts to Peely speeding along. At the end, Sonic is seen collecting a ring, one of the Sega series' most recognizable images.

Override appears to have a theme tied to games and digital worlds, with Sonic among the season's confirmed appearances. The video, however, does not explain how the collaboration will work in matches.

Specific Sonic-related items, modes, or mechanics in Fortnite have not yet been revealed. The partnership is expected to include cosmetics and other content, but those details will likely only become clear when the season launches.

Override is set to launch on August 20, 2026.

Sonic will not be the only franchise crossing paths with Fortnite during this period. Kingdom Hearts is also among the collaborations mentioned for the new season, although information on each partnership remains limited.

Sonic's appearance adds to the character's long list of crossovers with other brands. This time, Green Hill Zone and its rings feature in the promotion for a Fortnite season that begins on August 20.
