Date Everything appeared on the internet with a bold and, at the same time, curious proposal. It’s a visual novel style game and a romance simulator. It’s not a very popular style among PC and console gamers. It’s a type of game more common among teenagers who play on their cell phones or in the browser. We can say that the game produced by the French developer Beemov, Amour Sucré, is one of the big names in the genre with five or six romantic options. But Date Everything is way above that. It has 100 romance options!
First: the romance candidates are all the furniture and objects in your house. Which is quite unusual in itself. Can you imagine dating doors or your couch, or something else, like a wooden spoon? Yes, I know there are cases of people “dating” objects, but that’s not the case here. Plus, Date Everything gives you 100 romanceable characters to choose from, all with fully voiced dialogue. Voices like Felicia Day (Dragon Age 2, The Guild), Matthew Mancer (Vox Machina) and Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3
).
Now, are you curious to know how you got into this situation of being surrounded by 100 dating candidates, handsome, sexy and very into you (unlike in real life)? Let's talk about Date Everything and, if you have any questions, leave a comment.
A New Job
You are ready to start a new job at Valvian, a technology and many other things company, and you have received messages from the CEO, an egomaniac who thinks he is very successful, from your direct supervisor, very concerned about maintaining good productivity, and from a nice coworker named Sam, who is happy to start working too.

So, you sit down at your PC and start doing customer service for Valdivian, and some strange cases depend on you, but at the end of the workday, the CEO of the company announces that your job, and that of several other areas, will be eliminated and replaced by an AI designed and developed by the technology department (which will also replace everyone who works there). Your boss calls you and laments your new joblessness, but explains that because of contractual issues, you’re in a kind of legal “limbo”. Neither working nor fired (and no, they don’t tell you if you’ll continue to be paid during this time).

Sam, your colleague, asks you to go chat with her on “Thiscord”, a social network that you don’t usually use. There, someone who identifies himself as “Tinfoil Hat” calls you and says that you’ll soon receive a package delivered by a drone. You open the package and inside are a pair of aviator-style glasses with pink lenses and heart details. When you use them, a beautiful girl with pink hair and clothes with heart details appears in front of you. She is Skylar. A dateviator and, more precisely, the glasses you’re wearing.
She explains to you that you now have the mission of awakening all the dateviators, that is, the objects in your house. She shows you that you can talk to them and become their friend, maybe become their enemy and irritate them to the point of being hated by them or, on the other hand, you can even win the love of the objects. She then takes you to meet Dorian, the door, a guy who looks like a club bouncer, who becomes your friend and tells you that love and romance aren’t for him.
Now you must wear your glasses and meet all the adorable, sexy, interesting and even annoying dateviators in your house and get some new romances and friends while trying to understand why you’re given these strange glasses.
Home, Sweet Home
Date Everything is a dating simulation and sandbox game, where you have the freedom to walk around a complete 3D environment of the house, with kitchen, living room, laundry room, bathroom, etc. When using the glasses, you can point a heart cursor towards an object and wake them up. This will bring up a very well-drawn 2D image by hand (no AI art here) with the personification of the objects.
It's incredible to see the details in each of the characters that make it clear what they are. You'll see lots of pens, paperclips and post-its making up Penelope's outfit, her office supplies; Johnny Splash, the shower, is a mix of Elvis Presley with a shower curtain, some shampoo bottles and a shower head as a microphone, and Maggie, the magnifying glass, has a style of Sherlock Holmes mixed with Velma Dinkley from Scooby Doo.
Each character has their own individual stories and problems to solve. Holly, the Dust Bunny, is a beautiful and seductive Playboy bunny with multiple PhDs and an archaeology student, but she’s underestimated because of her appearance. Scandelabra, a table lamp, introduces himself as a man in Victorian clothes who loves to gossip in the best Bridgerton style. And Sinclair, the sink, says he’s a man named Michael who got transformed into a sink.

Engaging in these stories, responding to interactions with each of the objects, will increase (or decrease) your intimacy with the characters, which will result in a romantic, friendly or even hateful ending with the objects. Each ending will give you points in five stats, such as Intelligence, Good humor, Seduction and others. These attributes will help you unlock more responses to talk to the characters, which will unlock new and fun interactions. And, later on, you’ll do other things.
Each character also has a gallery of images released throughout the conversations. Some appear during the normal course of the conversation, but some are locked depending on the route you choose. For example, Skylar has an image that will only be released if you choose not to help her with her problem. So, to unlock all the images associated with the characters, you’ll have to play more times. One of the dateviators has 33 images to be unlocked.
After solving (or not) the dateviator problems, you’ll have your love, friendship or hate, and with that, you’ll have the opportunity to get “more intimate” with that character, in a situation narrated only in a few details. There’s no NSFW content in the game and no details of the intimate moments. It's just a sentence saying that you went to bed.
Very SFW
Here, I want to make it clear that this is more of a thing that I find interesting than a problem with the game. It’s quite relaxed about more adult content; however, it could be a little more “spicy”. In terms of textual description, the encounter with Ben-Hwa (I won’t say what he is) is quite bold and spicy, but it’s just text. Does the game allow for the age restriction to be raised a little to +16? Yes.
I mean, it has the image of the cover of PlayBunny, the adult magazine that Holly was on the cover of. Is there a moment when Dorian, at your door, appears shirtless, etc.? Yes. These moments are bolder and could even be more frequent, with illustrations in underwear or swimsuits, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration or out of context. The game chose a more “family-friendly” approach. So, if you’re looking for something a little more bold, you won’t find it here.
Welcome Improvements
Date Everything is well optimized and, in my hours of playing, I didn't find any bugs or problems, but there were some questions in my mind that would make the game cooler. For example, although you can choose your name, pronouns or gender, none of that matters. Your character doesn't even have a reflection. The characters continue to talk to you in the same way, and they’ll all try to get you into bed in the same way. Everyone there is very interested in you.

There could be, within 100 characters, some who are straight, gay or bisexual, instead of everyone being into everyone. Some, like Dorian, prefer to just be friends, but in the end, everyone is there for you. There are some who will be more jealous and not really want to share you, but ultimately, you can have a huge harem at home.
Another detail about relationships is that, after things are resolved, your relationship or friendship becomes more or less like the marriages in Skyrim, where the NPC will just repeat the same dialogue and that's it. Although Skylar says that it's worth talking to someone you've already managed to get in a relationship with, it really doesn't make a difference. Once the problem has been resolved, it’s not worth going there to talk to the character, as it’ll waste a charge of the glasses that could be used on another piece of furniture.
Pros and Cons
Pros
+ A lot of content and replayability;
+ Excellent hand-drawn art;
+ Voices counting with huge stars such as Neil Newbon and Felicia Day;

Cons
- Character choices don’t matter as much;
- Lacks a little “spice”;
Conclusion
Date Everything is a bold bet by Team17 and Sassy Cheap Games, with a very extensive voice cast and many cool, beautiful, seductive characters that will certainly captivate your heart. You won't finish the game before falling in love with at least half a dozen objects in your house.
However, it lacked a little more variety in terms of the characters' sexuality, since we have a house with 100 bisexuals who will be interested in you, no matter if you’re a boy, a girl or non-binary. Of course, you choose who you want to be friends with or have a romance with, but it’d be more interesting if at least some of the objects "turned you away" and weren't so available.
