Grand Theft Auto Online is Rockstar Games’ multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V, set primarily in the fictional state of San Andreas and its Los Santos metropolitan area. It launched on October 1, 2013, two weeks after Grand Theft Auto V, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Players create a customizable criminal character rather than assuming the role of Michael, Franklin, or Trevor.
