How the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass Works

Overwatch 2 maintains the same Battle Pass system, unchanged. Accumulating experience is key to securing rewards. Each level in the track requires 10,000 EXP points.

How to Level Up the Battle Pass

Progression in the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass is fueled by several EXP sources. To optimize progress, it's crucial to understand the role of each:

  • Daily Challenges: This is the most consistent source of EXP. Every day, the first three completed tasks grant a total of 9,000 XP (3,000 each), representing almost an entire pass level.
  • Weekly Challenges: Each completed weekly mission can earn 5,000 EXP or 150 Credits. The highlight is the 20,000 EXP bonus awarded for completing three of these missions.
  • Events: Seasonal activities, such as Halloween, introduce their own set of challenges. Completing them provides an additional EXP boost, making them a great way to progress while exploring limited-time content.

  • Match Progression: Finally, participation in any game mode grants a base amount of XP, bringing slow, but continuous advancement.

All Season 19 Battle Pass rewards

The Battle Pass, as usual, features 80 reward-packed tiers, 28 of which are free and available to everyone. Once you reach the end of the track, prestige rewards are unlocked for free, with eight exclusive titles unlocked between tiers 85 and 200.

During the Pass review, you'll see all the skins and some of the best free items of the season. Afterward, you'll also find a video summarizing all the rewards, if you'd like to take a closer look and draw your own conclusions.

Afterward, we'll talk about the Mythic Skins and the collection released this Season. Check it out!

    Free Items

The free version of the track guarantees the following rewards: 1 Highlight Intro, 2 Player Icons, 1 Victory Pose, 3 Sprays, 4 Voice Lines, 1 Legendary Loot Box, 3 Weapon Charms, 2 Epic Skins, 2 Emotes, 1 Player Card, 600 Overwatch Coins, and 1,500 Credits, in addition to the 8 titles available in the prestige sector.

The first free skin for Echo, Cursed Woods—a reward granted at Tier 40—already hints at the Season's theme and the high quality of the Battle Pass. The other skins of this rarity for the hero are simply recolors. Cursed Woods, on the other hand, brings a new characteristic to Echo, as well as details related to curses and witchcraft.

Levels earlier, specifically at level 34, all players will be eligible to unlock the Player Icon corresponding to this skin. A great option for fans of the hero who enjoyed the new style!

Along the same lines, Blizzard also worked on a Cursed Candle for Torbjörn. It's another great option for Free to Play players, as it's not just a recolor and has above-average quality for this skin rarity.

In keeping with the update's core focus, the track brings even more cosmetics of all kinds for you to enjoy this Halloween. Some examples include the Player Icon and Mummy Venture Spray, as well as the Cursed Teddy Zenyatta Card!

    Premium Items

By purchasing the Premium Battle Pass, along with all the items mentioned, you'll also receive extra Credits, more Legendary Loot Boxes, and various cosmetics, including five Legendary skins and one Epic skin. It's also worth mentioning that this track includes 80 Mythic Prisms; Prisms are the special currency used to unlock Mythic weapons and hero skins.

In the next section, we'll look at this Season's skins! For now, we'll focus on the skins featured in the Premium track itself.

October 31st isn't just known for horror and monstrosities; the nights are also marked by great costumes with a variety of themes—which were well-represented in the Shadow Ninja and One-Eyed Wilhelm Reinhardt skins unlocked at levels 30 and 60, respectively.

For those looking to explore horror, with Halloween being the main focus, there's a variety of spooky skins to choose from. These include the legendary Vampire Moira, Mermonster Wuyang, and Oni Cassidy styles—rewards for tiers 1, 20, and 80.

This is also the case with Cursed Teddy Zenyatta, the epic skin from the Premium Pass is another amazing option!

Overall, all the styles are quite pleasing. The Halloween focus is clear, and the visuals perfectly reflect it. The quality is above average—even the epic styles give characters a new twist!

There are other cosmetics that reflect this event. You can take a closer look at them in the video below, available on the Sennti YouTube channel.

    Ultimate Battle Pass

Those who decide to invest in the Battle Pass can choose from several options. The Premium edition costs 1,000 coins, while the version with instant 20-level advancement costs 2,200 coins. The Ultimate package, sold for about $35, includes the Premium Pass with 20 unlocked levels, 2,000 Overwatch Coins, and two exclusive skins: R-7K Preserver for Ramattra and Vampire for Kiriko.

Both cosmetics are incredible! Ramattra, being an omnic, paired perfectly with R-7K Preserver's futuristic style.

Kiriko, as usual, took center stage! Besides being an extremely popular hero, she received a Rogue skin—from the same line as Moira—that ties in perfectly with the season's theme. It will be interesting to see matches with two supports utilizing this same theme!

    Mythic Skins

Any Premium edition of the Battle Pass, once completed, will award 80 Mythic Prisms—which are used to acquire mythic skins, whether for heroes or weapons.

Each season, Overwatch 2 receives at least one skin of this rarity for a hero and one for a weapon. They cost 50 Mythic Prisms to unlock in stage one. To evolve them—adding more effects and details—you need to spend 10 Prisms per level, reaching a total of 80—exactly the amount earned in the track.

This season, the two styles are Divine Druid, for Lifeweaver, and Spirit Keeper, for Kiriko.

Because they're mythical, these skins' abilities are subject to animation effects. Check it out:

I believe Kiriko's Spirit Keeper will be the most sought-after skin this early in the season. Besides the great effects on the weapon itself and also upon elimination, the ability to inspect her dagger is incredible and could even attract some of the community who also play Counter-Strike 2 or Valorant, as knife inspection is extremely eye-catching in those titles.

Spirit Keeper borders on perfection with these features, but Lifeweaver's new style isn't far behind either. With new skill animations, Divine Druid promises to be a great choice for support fans.

    Archangel Collection

To conclude this review, we want to discuss the new skin collection for Overwatch 2 Season 19! The Archangel skins will only be available until October 27th.

The bundle costs 6,900 Overwatch Coins and includes skins and player icons for Freja, Genji, Pharah, Baptiste, Sigma, and Mercy—you can also purchase them separately. The set also includes other cosmetics for some of these characters.

Although these are Legendary skins and don't feature new animations like the Mythic ones, they're extremely well-crafted. The details and redesign of each hero are excellent, and the idea of not creating a conventional skin for Mercy—who already has that theme—and making her a Fallen Angel was great. Now you'll have a different take on the same hero!

    Conclusion

The Battle Pass adheres to the Season's central theme; all the cosmetics are Halloween-themed, and I'm sure that if that theme appeals to you, it'll definitely be worth it! The skins are increasingly high-quality, surpassing many of the previous tracks. With an affordable price, we recommend purchasing them for anyone interested.

The Ultimate version, of course, at $35, may not be affordable for everyone. We only recommend it to those who have a stable income and don't see that price as something they'll need in the future.

The mythic skins continue to be incredible. If you play Kiriko or Lifeweaver and don't have any Mythic Prisms left, consider purchasing the Premium Pass to purchase at least one of these skins.

Finally, the Archangel collection may not be as appealing as the Battle Pass, which is more affordable and better reflects the Halloween theme. All the skins are great, but you might want to buy one or two skins separately, unless you enjoy playing with at least three or four characters from the set—in which case, the bundle discount will be worth it.

I hope you enjoyed this article. I'm available if you have any questions or suggestions.
