Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is the expanded version of Attack on Titan 2, developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. Released in Japan in 2019, it combines the original game's campaign with an expansion covering the third anime season. The expansion was sold as a standalone release in some markets and as downloadable content for the base game. Its story follows the Survey Corps through the events leading to the battle of Shiganshina and the revelation of information inside Grisha Yeager's basement. It is designed as a companion to the television adaptation rather than original storyline. Players create a custom Scout who joins Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackermann, and Armin Arlert before the Trost District crisis. This protagonist participates in missions that recreate major scenes from the first two seasons, including Titan captures, rescue operations, and battles around the walls. The character creator is not merely cosmetic: the avatar has a relationship with several canon characters and experiences the narrative from an outsider's perspective. In Final Battle, the campaign continues through Season 3's political conflict with the Interior Military Police and the Scouts' confrontation with the monarchy. Combat centers on the series' signature Omni-Directional Mobility gear, letting characters swing between buildings and Titan bodies while managing gas and blades. Attacking a Titan's limbs can disable it; cutting the nape is required for a kill. Final Battle adds Character Episode Mode, retelling Season 3 from the viewpoints of Reiner Braun, Bertolt Hoover, Annie Leonhart, and Zeke Jaeger. Territory Recovery Mode lets players reclaim land beyond the walls by developing bases and fighting Titans. Online missions support teams of up to four players. Character skills and equipment upgrades encourage different approaches, while the game preserves the anime's manga-inspired design. Historically, Final Battle was positioned as the definitive edition of Omega Force's licensed adaptation, incorporating updates that the base release could not provide alone. Koei Tecmo marketed it for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC through Steam. Its content ends at the conclusion of the anime's third season, so it does not adapt later manga or television events. The final battle in its title refers to the Survey Corps' desperate assault on Shiganshina, where Erwin Smith leads a charge against the Beast Titan while Levi pursues Zeke. That sequence is playable and emphasizes sacrifice and coordinated squad commands.
