Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is expected to require around 200 GB, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. The estimated size helps explain why the final chapter of the remake trilogy will not be released in full on a single disc at launch. In an interview, Hamaguchi said the details are still being finalized, but indicated that the file size will be much larger than those of the previous games. According to the director, the team needs to overcome certain hardware limitations to deliver what it has planned for the series finale. The comparison offers a clear sense of the scale. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth requires 91 GB on Nintendo Switch 2, 145 GB on PlayStation 5, 169 GB on Xbox Series, and 155 GB on PC. Revelation could be nearly twice the size of Rebirth, depending on the platform.Hamaguchi also discussed post-launch content plans. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will receive two bonus DLC packs, similar in scope to Intermission, the expansion for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The content is expected to further explore Vincent Valentine and Sephiroth. However, the director did not reveal whether those stories will take place in the past or the present of the narrative. The game's size has already sparked discussion about the relationship between scale and length in RPGs. For now, the storage estimate does not confirm how many hours the adventure will offer, nor does it detail how the two DLC packs will be released.Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch on April 8, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
