The year 2026 has barely begun and the anticipation is already building with everything coming in the world of games. Many of these games have already appeared in trailers and presentations at events and live streams with developers, but now they’re finally close to arriving. For those who are still unaware of what's on the way, we've compiled 10 games that are generating a lot of hype among players and on social media, whether due to debate, controversy, trailers, or whatever else. And if you have any questions, leave a comment.

Grand Theft Auto VI - Rockstar Games - PS5, Xbox Series X|S - November 19, 2026

GTA VI is, without a doubt, the most hyped game of 2026. Even after the improper leaks and the issues surrounding the game's protagonist, the gaming community is paying close attention to every piece of news, every announcement, and every controversy. Rockstar has confirmed the release date of November 19, 2026, and, at least so far, there have been no delays. The game will first be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC hasn’t been confirmed as a launch platform, the same situation that occurred with GTA 5.

We return to Vice City, with a beach town vibe and an even bigger new map. The game will take place in a location called Leonida, and the plot will revolve around Jason and Lucia, involved in a heist that should’ve been simple but goes wrong, leaving them trapped in a criminal conspiracy that spreads throughout the city and forces the protagonists into a partnership where they depend on each other to survive.

The hype here doesn't just come from the game's name, but from the time gap between releases. GTA V is from 2013, and Rockstar spent over a decade with a main game without a replacement (and even had that flopped remaster in between), and this always increases fans' expectations for a technological leap that will compensate for both the wait and the ever-increasing prices.

Many people expect a more "alive" world, with more people on the streets, more real-world variation in situations, and a city that seems to have its own routine, not just reacting when the player gets close. Something that the GTA franchise games have always done and surprised with.

There's no shortage of videos out there showing that, in GTA V, when you're playing as one character, the world continues to revolve around the others. And now fans expect nothing less than that. There's also the 'Vice City' factor: many people have fond memories of GTA Vice City, and even though the tone and time period are different, returning to that place resonates with fans.

Crimson Desert - Pearl Abyss - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Mac - March 19, 2026

Crimson Desert is an interesting case because it comes from a studio that many people directly associate with the MMO Black Desert, with graphics focused on idealized beauty, giant weapons, and incredible visual effects. But here the conversation is different. This will be a single-player open-world action game with more of a medieval European feel than ancient China, and Pearl Abyss itself has strongly emphasized this: it's a large world, with exploration, combat, and a heavier fantasy atmosphere than its most popular game.

The official synopsis reads: “Set in the vast continent of Pywel, Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game that follows the journey of protagonist Kliff and his Greymane companions. Players will follow Kliff and his Greymane comrades on an epic journey with large-scale battles, exploration, and a captivating narrative in a game that has received much praise for its graphical quality, intense combat, and an immersive and captivating world.”

What is certain is that Pearl Abyss seems to want to combine exploration with visually exciting combat and a serious narrative. Crimson Desert has a visual style far superior to what we usually see in open-world action games, which even generated some skepticism, making it seem “too good to be true”. The expected release date is March 19, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac.

Resident Evil Requiem - Capcom - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC - February 27, 2026

Resident Evil Requiem arrives with a mix of excitement and nervousness because it's an extremely well-known franchise, but one that lately has been delivering things quite different from what we expect. Whether it's good or bad is up to you to decide. The release is scheduled for February 27, 2026, and it’ll be released for PC and current-generation consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

What Capcom makes clear is that Requiem is a survival horror game with a very direct marketing message: “Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living”. Regarding story and characters, what we have so far is the return of a character from the almost unknown Resident Evil Outbreak on PlayStation 2, Alyssa Ashcroft, and the franchise's familiar face, Leon S. Kennedy, along with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, Alyssa's daughter, together in another investigation of a mysterious series of deaths occurring throughout the United States.

Many people want to see another Resident Evil game that truly scares them in a more "classic" way, with a tense story, limited resources that force you to drop a healing herb to reload another bullet, and that feeling that you're always at a disadvantage. If Requiem truly delivers on this atmosphere, it’ll go straight into the hall of fame of the franchise's best games.

Marvel's Wolverine - Insomniac Games - PS5 - Autumn 2026

Do you like Marvel’s Spider-Man from Insomniac? Then you're probably hyped to play this! Marvel's Wolverine is one of those games that carries enormous expectations just from its announcement. Even before we see anything, just that teaser of Logan's hand with the claws and the name Insomniac, the same studio behind Spider-Man, makes us expect something good to come.

The official synopsis, for now, is quite vague: “To unravel the mysteries of his past and the man he used to be, Wolverine will face whatever it takes, with brutal claws, overwhelming fury, and relentless determination.”

The hype here has a simple explanation: it's Wolverine in a big game, with budget and time, made by a studio that has already shown it knows how to do this type of production. Something we haven't seen for a long time from this character or from Marvel characters. For those who like the character, the chance to play something that isn't a game adapted from a movie should already be worth the pre-order.

A leaked part of the game showed that everything seems well done and well planned. If the leaked and unfinished part is like that, then the complete game will be incredible! Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to PS5 and the window is autumn 2026, but there’s no exact date yet. There's also no official confirmation from other platforms. So, for now, let's treat it as a PS5 exclusive at launch, at least until PlayStation or Insomniac says otherwise.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight - TT Games - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2 - May 29, 2026

After the fiasco of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the controversy surrounding the Batman from the acclaimed Arkham series, this new LEGO Batman has an important detail right off the bat: it's not just "another LEGO game". It's a LEGO version of the Arkham universe! With all the pros and cons that entails!

The game functions as an origin story, focusing on Bruce Wayne's beginnings and the building of Batman as this Gotham legend. Even in the trailer, we identify several references, such as the car chase with the Penguin (not Colin Farrell's Penguin from 'The Batman,' but a Penguin closer to the one played by Danny DeVito in 'Batman Returns').

The official description itself states: “Take on the role of the Dark Knight and experience the essential Batman story in a bold, action-packed adventure, featuring intense combat, an open-world Gotham City, and the signature LEGO charm that fans know and love.” The official website lists a number of iconic locations we'll visit, such as Wayne Tower, Arkham Asylum, and more.

Batman combined with the LEGO format is already a success (just watch the movie) and allows for playful costumes, gadgets, and humor, but at the same time, Gotham is a fun setting to explore when it becomes an open city with missions and activities, as we already know.

Furthermore, TT Games is a studio with experience in this type of production. So, it has everything to succeed. The release date is May 29, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Switch 2 version is confirmed as a platform, but with a release sometime in 2026.

007 First Light - IO Interactive - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2 - May 27, 2026

Another game with social media community issues due to the protagonist's youthful appearance. But despite that, 007 First Light looks like "the right game from the right studio". IO Interactive, known for the Hitman series, already talks about the kind of experience they know how to create and what we can expect: maps with different paths, the possibility of resolving situations in various ways, stealth with improvisation, and espionage that doesn't depend solely on shooting, but that doesn't stop you from going all out.

One important aspect of the story, which is being treated as the core of the project, is that the game shows a young Bond, still at the beginning, as a recruit in training in the MI6 program. IO describes this as an origin story, with a resourceful, sometimes reckless Bond learning to become the agent the world knows.

The synopsis reads: “Follow James Bond as a resourceful and sometimes reckless young recruit in the MI6 training program. After a heroic act, the young Marine crewman, Bond, receives an offer to join the newly reactivated 00 program.

But when a mission to apprehend a rogue agent ends in tragedy, he must join forces with his reluctant mentor, Greenway, to expose a deep conspiracy and prevent an imminent coup at the heart of the state.”

What the game promises is third-person espionage, with a mix of action and stealth. It's not just "hide and wait", and it's not just "shoot your way through". The kind of game where you need moments of infiltration, use of gadgets, and more intense scenes when everything goes wrong. Things that IO has already proven it can do. The expected release date is May 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.

PRAGMATA - Capcom - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2 - April 24, 2026

PRAGMATA is one of those new Capcom games that draws attention because it's not a sequel to anything and needs to explain very well what the game is about. For now, it looks like Death Stranding, but with an older girl and not a baby. Also, we know it's a sci-fi action-adventure, focused on narrative, and with a "touch of hacking" as part of the gameplay.

The story's premise, also confirmed in the official synopses, states: In the near future, protagonists Hugh and his android companion Diana must work together as they navigate the cold lunar research station.

In practice, based on what's already been seen in the trailers, it's easy to imagine: it should have combat and movement typical of an action-adventure game, but with situations involving hacking systems, shutting things down, clearing paths, and tinkering with technology while building a relationship with the child.

Now, given that Capcom is a studio that, when it decides to polish a game, usually delivers something very polished, it gives hope that PRAGMATA has a real chance of becoming a series, not just another cool idea that will disappear. Capcom confirmed the release date for April 24, 2026, and the platforms PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.

Halo: Campaign Evolved - Microsoft Studios - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC - 2026

Halo: Campaign Evolved is basically a faithful, yet modern, remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. However, the big news here is that, in addition to Xbox Series X|S and PC, the Microsoft game will be coming to Sony consoles for the first time! This alone changes the scale of the project, because Halo has always been an Xbox exclusive and one of the platform's flagship titles.

There's not much new here, aside from the platform and graphics being enhanced for the new generation, but if it's a faithful remake, then we already know the story. The super-soldier known as Master Chief and the AI, Cortana, are in a campaign against the Covenant, aliens who want to destroy everything in search of the Halo, which, in this game, few know what it is. It comes with the promise of a campaign with local co-op support for two players and online co-op for up to four players, with crossplay.

Reviving the campaign that introduced Halo to the world, modernized and with co-op, seems to be Microsoft's bet as it takes its first steps on the competing platform. The second step will be bringing Fable to PlayStation, but we'll talk about that in a moment. The official forecast, for now, is only "2026" and, as mentioned, it’ll be released for PC, Xbox Series and, for the first time, PlayStation 5.

Fable - Playground Games - PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC - Autumn 2026

And let's talk about it now! The new Fable isn't just a new game in a classic franchise, but a new beginning, so much so that the name is simply "Fable" and not "Fable 4". Developed by Playground Games, a studio many people know from the Forza Horizon series, but here they're making an open-world action RPG.

The official Xbox website states: “Fable returns with the stunning relaunch of a beloved franchise. As the first hero of a generation, explore a vibrant Albion, full of quirky characters, dark humor, and chickens… lots of chickens. This isn’t just nostalgia, it’s a fresh start in an incredibly vibrant and beautiful world.”

The trailers showcase an open-world Albion, giving you the freedom to be the kind of hero you want to be. And “hero” here isn’t the standard world-saving hero. The series has always focused on humor and choices that put you in somewhat strange or wrong situations, and the new game aims to maintain that spirit, but with a smarter consequence system.

Be a hero who spends too much, and people will throw it in your face that you want to show off your wealth. Be evil, and people will fear you. Be good, and they’ll praise you. Do things in the world, and those things will have consequences, such as affecting house prices. The “style-weaving combat” system will blend melee attacks, ranged attacks, and magic in a very fluid way. The idea is that you can switch from a sword to a magic attack without it feeling like you're changing "modes," but rather as if it's all part of your natural fighting style.

And Fable has always been this kind of mix. An RPG that plays with an imperfect, non-epic world. This isn't Lord of the Rings, but it can be if you want! If the game manages to combine a well-made open world, enjoyable combat, impactful choices, and just the right amount of humor, it has everything to become a strong contender for GOTY. The official release window is autumn 2026, but without a defined date yet, and the platforms include PC, Xbox Series, and, like Halo, for the first time, PlayStation 5.

Gears of War: E-Day - The Coalition - Xbox Series X|S, PC - 2026

Gears of War: E-Day is a game that is born with a clear mission: to return to the beginning of the trauma. It's a prequel, set 14 years before the first Gears of War, and places Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in the middle of Emergence Day, the day the Locust Horde appears and plunges the world into chaos. This is the kind of snapshot that changes the tone. Instead of depicting a war that is already "normalized," the game wants to show the moment when everything collapses.

What has been presented so far speaks volumes about the use of Unreal Engine 5 and the very high graphical quality. In the case of Gears, this isn't just about making it look pretty. It's about making it heavy, gritty, scary, with that horror atmosphere that the series has always had behind the gunfights. And the trailer shows this atmosphere with Marcus getting beaten up and a devastated city. It's not the Marcus who uses a chainsaw to tear enemies apart. It's a more fragile Marcus who still feels every life lost in the war.

A detail that has already been mentioned in recent interviews and coverage is that the game takes place in a single city, Kalona, and that the story unfolds over consecutive days. This matters because it's a focus decision. Instead of a huge map just to say it's huge, the idea is for you to get to know a real place, see it changing, see people disappearing, and feel the weight of what happened there.

We hope that a well-made prequel can renew the series without erasing the past, because it doesn't need to compete with what already exists. It complements it. If E-Day truly delivers the start of the nightmare with the force the theme demands, it could be the game that makes everyone talk about Gears again the way they did in its heyday. While a specific release date hasn't been confirmed yet, Gears of War is expected sometime in the fall of 2026.
