The focus, in this article, is to learn the gameplay of Mister Fantastic, a duelist with several defensive tools offering a unique play style in Marvel Rivals. Check it out!
Mister Fantastic Abilities
Main Shot - Stretch Punch
His main attack has a range of 15 meters, where Mister Fantastic stretches his arms to the maximum to damage opponents. A curious fact, which can be seen in the video below, is that Stretch Punch can be considered an area attack, as it’s possible to hit other enemies if we move the blow at the moment of the attack.
Reflexive Rubber
Reflexive Rubber already shows Mister Fantastic’s immense potential to withstand damage. It’s one of the biggest reasons for results like this, where I caused some of the highest damage in the match, in addition to also resisting countless enemy attacks with few deaths.
When activating it, we stretch our belly to enter a defensive format, so you will receive a 300 health shield for a brief period, but you will not be able to attack or use any other skills meanwhile. If you are hit by projectiles during this time, you launch a beam that deals damage at the end of the skill. The more damage it absorbs, the greater the damage from the beam.
In the video below you can understand the difference, in the second activation, I’m not the target of any shot, so I won’t cause damage to the end of Reflexive Rubber.
Flexible Elongation
Your only mobility, but not the best, is Flexible Elongation, where you move towards an enemy, dealing damage, or an ally, providing them with a shield. You will receive a shield regardless of the hero you hit with the skill, this is its strong point.
Distended Grip
A strong way to cause crowd control to opponents. With Distended Grip, you attach an arm to the opponent you hit, so you have two options, either press the left button on them to pull them in, or use the same button aiming at another enemy hero to mash them together, causing damage.
Ultimate - Brainiac Bounce
It's definitely one of the most fun Ultimates in the game. Here, Mister Fantastic starts jumping, carrying out blows that hit a large area on the ground, whenever you land an attack you will jump again, with a maximum of six hits.
Passive - Elastic Strength
I believe this is one of the main advantages of playing with Reed Richards, you may have noticed in previous videos the numerical value present just below his crosshair, accompanied by a blue band. This is the charge of your passive, it’s increased whenever you use abilities, but gradually decreases when you’re out of combat.
Once you reach 100, you will grow and receive a huge shield. Despite not being able to use other skills, your attacks will be extremely strengthened, they will have a shorter range, but will cause a lot of damage.

Team-Up Ability - Wedded Harmony
His only Team-Up Ability so far happens with Invisible Woman, his companion in the Fantastic Four. When activated, you will receive a small amount of shield, providing another source of resistance.
Play Style - Which compositions do Mister Fantastic fit into?
Reed Richards will definitely not be suitable for a poke or dive composition, as he doesn’t offer, respectively, the range and mobility required by them.
He will rarely be effective in advances, I see him as a more viable option on defensive teams, who wait for the opponent to advance to fight closely. His protection abilities also serve to gain time on an objective, be it an area or escort, making him really useful for the team he’s defending.
Mister Fantastic works well with
Vanguards with shields, like Doctor Strange and Magneto tend to be great company for Mister Fantastic, as we’ll be able to advance more easily.
Of course, the Invisible Woman couldn't be missing either, since you don't have that much range you need to have as a partner, a strategist who can advance safely, exposing themselves in closer combat, and she’s capable of doing this, as she offers good tools for escape with her invisibility. Additionally, she also activates your Team-Up Ability. You can understand even more about the Invisible Woman by reading our complete guide about her for Marvel Rivals.
Mister Fantastic is bad against
Overall, Mister Fantastic doesn't offer any effective way to finish flying heroes, nor mobility to escape their shots. So, characters like Iron Man will be able to eliminate you easily.
Offering more life and shield is certainly an advantage, but this will open up windows for a good Wolverine to threaten you, since he deals damage based on your maximum health.
Hawkeye is a whole other problem, as his shots are lethal and reach much further than Mister Fantastic's punches. The archer also offers several tools for escape and disengage if you manage to get closer.
Conclusion
Mister Fantastic is not the most complete duelist in the Marvel Rivals cast, but his lack of mobility is compensated by his gain in resistance, making his gameplay unique compared to any other hero in this class. It was a good release, the hero brought Reed Richards' original personality that we see in films and comics, and we hope to see more characters of this quality in the future.
