How a Marvel Rivals match works
Marvel Rivals matches consist of 12 players, six on each side. Therefore, teamwork is extremely necessary, just like in Overwatch 2 and other games of this genre.
The objective of each confrontation depends on the game mode, so it won’t always be the same. We will see more about these modes below.
Game modes
Domination: Two teams compete to capture and control a strategic point on the map. The objective is to maintain it until the control percentage reaches 100%, while facing resistance from the opposing team.
Convoy: One team must escort a vehicle to its final destination, while the other tries to stop its progress before time runs out.
Convergence: The attacking team must capture a point on the map, then needs to escort a vehicle to the objective.
Conquest: The classic deathmatch mode, where the objective is to accumulate the highest number of eliminations to win.
Except for Conquest, I felt a huge similarity with the modes of Overwatch 2. Of course, they are titles of the same genre, but I expect more innovative confrontation styles in the future.
Note: Ranked mode has been available since the game's release for those more competitive players.
All characters from the launch of Marvel Rivals
Like a good Hero Shooter, the characters have unique characteristics, from skills to status. Therefore, it’s important to know which heroes are available, there are 33 in this release.
First, I will divide them into three categories, being the functions of the game. These serve to dictate, in general, the character's play style.
Vanguards (Tanks): Heroes with high HP and focus on defensive skills. In addition to withstanding damage, they are the front line in the team's advancements.
Duelists (DPS): The team's main source of damage. Duelists stand out for their ability to eliminate enemies in addition to their high mobility, but they have lower resistance.
Strategists (Supports): Characters who dedicate themselves to healing and providing buffs, being more focused on helping the team than on dealing damage or resisting attacks.

Collaborative skills
If the classes and game modes are similar to the competitor, in terms of gameplay Marvel Rivals innovates. Collaborative skills are some combos that occur when we have specific heroes as allies.
For example, if there’s a Rocket Raccoon and a Groot on the same team, it’s possible for the Raccoon to stand on the tank's shoulders, reducing the damage received.

The available maps are:
Monetization
NetEase will work with microtransactions in the title, but will only bring cosmetic items. You can see it right away when you enter the store tab.
The first Season brought a short battle pass, lasting a little over a month, it’s also exclusive to cosmetics, and is acquired through paid coins.
Wrapping Up
Marvel Rivals has everything it needs to be a reference in this genre. NetEase has a huge and interesting universe, which in itself has already attracted millions of fans, I hope that live a service is well executed to turn the game into a success!
