Since its launch in 2009, League of Legends—Riot Games' acclaimed MOBA—has accumulated countless content and updates. During this time, some skins have become true relics: they've been discontinued and haven't been seen in the store for many years.
We at UmGamer have gathered the rarest skins in League of Legends history, each more exclusive than the last. See if you own or have seen any of them!
Judgement Kayle

Judgement Kayle was a free reward given to those who played at least 10 ranked matches during the game's first season—which ran from July 13, 2010, to August 23, 2011.
This is one of the least exclusive skins in today's article. This is largely because, by 2011, League had already built an initial player base, and Judgement Kayle was distributed online for free—unlike many others we'll see here.
This skin underwent a redesign and now looks like this:

Rusty Blitzcrank

Rusty Blitzcrank was a common skin, even sold in the store, released in January 2010. However, because it was so similar to the character's default style, many never considered purchasing it, and after three months, Riot closed any opportunity to revive the look.
Since there weren’t many players at the beginning of that year, and of those few, only a minority accepted the skin. Rusty Blitzcrank eventually became a relic!
Riot Squad Singed

Riot Squad Singed could easily be among the rarest skins in the game, as it was a skin awarded to fans who attended Gamescom 2010 in Cologne, Germany.
However, Riot also decided, for a short time, to make this skin available in the store, which has given it a slightly larger presence today. Still, only veterans have Riot Squad Singed in their inventory!
UFO Corki

Like Judgement Kayle, UFO Corki was also given to players for free—this skin was a reward to celebrate an award Riot Games received at the time.
However, unlike the previous one, UFO Corki was only given to those who had an account in the game before January 14, 2010—a period with a smaller percentage of players, making the skin extremely hard to see nowadays.
King Rammus

For many in the community, this is where the elite of rare skins begins. In over 11 years of playing League, I've had the opportunity to witness two or three players sporting it in a match.
King Rammus was a gift granted to League of Legends beta users, something truly unique. The only thing that's not considered the most exclusive in history is that, when the Brazilian server was created in 2012, players who were playing in NA and participated in the first server transfer also received it.
Regardless of this secondary factor, King Rammus is, without a doubt, one of the most talked-about and acclaimed skins in Riot Games' MOBA.
Silver Kayle

It may not seem like it, but League of Legends was sold in physical form back in 2009. And only those who purchased this relic received a code to redeem Silver Kayle.

As if that weren't enough, Riot Games never replenished the CDs—which quickly sold out—and the codes expired in 2014. So, not only would you have had to be familiar with the game at the time, but you also had to know about this product and purchase it before supplies ran out.
This skin is another one that underwent a redesign after the champion's rework. Check out its new version:

Young Ryze

You probably already understand why Silver Kayle is here. Now, add an extra layer of exclusivity to understand the status of Young Ryze.
He was also granted to those who purchased the physical copy of League of Legends, but only to those who specifically pre-ordered—even fewer people!
Black Alistar

Available only to those who purchased the collector's edition of League of Legends in mid-2009, Black Alistar is considered by many to be the rarest skin in the MOBA’s history.
League of Legends not only obviously lacked its current popularity, but the fact that it was a free-to-play game meant very few people actually purchased it.
PAX Skins
Three skins from the same collection make up today's podium. The PAX skins were created to celebrate the in-person Penny Arcade Expo—a major convention for gamers and geek culture fans. The two "easiest" to find are PAX Jax and PAX Sivir, codes for which were distributed to event attendees in 2010 or 2011.

Interestingly, PAX Sivir received a new version sold at the Hextec store in 2017. However, the so-called "Neo PAX Sivir" wasn't available for long, and it's not the actual PAX Sivir—so it doesn't diminish the rarity of the original version.
Jax and Sivir were more accessible because, starting in 2010, the Penny Arcade Expo began taking place in more than one city.
The rarest skin in all of League of Legends, PAX Twisted Fate, was awarded only to those who attended the 2009 Penny Arcade Expo. A year in which League and the event itself still had a smaller fan base. It's also worth mentioning that, until that year, PAX was held in only one place: Seattle, reducing the chances of other regions receiving the skin.

The codes also expired in 2014, so it's impossible for anyone from that era to have saved a code to use today on a new account. It's impossible to receive a copy of one of the PAX skins.
In over 11 years of playing, I've never seen any style from the PAX collection—it's truly a lost treasure.
Honorable Mention: Victorious Skins

The Victorious skinline is worth mentioning. You may already know that at the end of each season, players who have reached at least Gold ranking will receive a Victorious skin for the champion selected for that season.
Each opportunity is unique for you to secure that champion's skin, as they’ll never return. Of course, the most exclusive ones are from the early years, such as Victorious Jarvan IV (season one) and Victorious Janna (season two), when the community was still smaller.

As the years go by, all victorious skins will be relics belonging to a select group of players from a certain era.
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed this article. With so many years under its belt, League of Legends has a lot to offer in terms of history and exclusivity.
