Final Fantasy 7 Revelation may take more than 100 hours for players who want to explore everything the game has to offer. Naoki Hamaguchi, director of the final installment in the remake trilogy, said that a playthrough focused on experiencing every element created by Square Enix would “easily” exceed that length. The estimate covers a start-to-finish playthrough that takes in every feature and detail of the RPG. Hamaguchi explained that even he cannot maintain that level of scrutiny in every playthrough. As director, he usually skips battles when he only needs to check the progress of the main story. The adventure’s scale matches the scope of its final chapter. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will feature more minigames, battles and areas to explore as Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Vincent Valentine and the rest of the party continue their fight against Sephiroth. The Highwind, the group’s massive airship, will also be used to travel across the game’s world.Hamaguchi has already completed 46 full playthroughs during development. He said he takes advantage of any free time he can find to test the latest build, including during work trips, bringing a PlayStation 5 controller with him to check the game and look for potential issues. The length, however, will vary considerably depending on each player’s approach. Those who focus on the story may finish the campaign in less time, while players who investigate every corner and take part in every activity will have a much longer experience. The 100-hour estimate could still change before release.Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch for PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 8, 2027.
