The reveal of Diablo 5 at BlizzCon 2026 has raised questions about the future of Diablo 4, which launched in 2023. Brent Gibson, Diablo 4's director, said Blizzard will continue producing content for the game even after the franchise's next installment arrives.Gibson said Diablo 4 still has many plans in development and cited the Amazon class as one of the upcoming additions. The character will arrive in the game in the first half of 2027, while Diablo 5 is scheduled to launch in three years.The director also explained that Blizzard plans to keep Diablo 4's seasons going as long as the community continues to play. In his view, Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 show that the series can sustain active communities and receive content over long periods.The strategy will not be limited to Diablo 4. Blizzard also announced the Warlock class for Diablo 2, reinforcing the idea that the franchise's games will continue to receive attention even as new titles are in development.Joe Shely, Diablo 5's director, said Diablo 4 has the team's full support. Upcoming content and plans mentioned include the arrival of the Amazon, the Season of Hell's Legacy season and the Switch 2 version of Diablo 4.
