About the Combo

Global abilities always have a big impact on Dota matches. A few examples of heroes with powerful abilities that reach the entire map are Silencer, who can silence the entire map with his ultimate, and Spectre, who can target enemy heroes across the entire map and move great distances in a moment. However, the most famous ones are without a doubt Zeus, Invoker and Nature’s Prophet.

Together, these three heroes can create a powerful combo that’ll hit enemy heroes in sequence, possibly guaranteeing a Global Rampage. But, before talking about the execution of the combo and how it works, we need to understand each hero and their respective abilities, as well as the role each one will play on the team.

Zeus

Zeus is a very versatile hero, who can be played in several positions, in addition to being able to deal a lot of magic damage quickly and being an excellent escapist. An important feature of this character is that he has not just one, but two global abilities. One that hits all enemy heroes at once and another that can be fired at a specific point on the map. In this build, he’ll act as a bombing support.

Now let's look at the important skills for the combo.

Divine Rampage

This is the best facet for this strategy. With it, Zeus can cast his ultimate in sequence, from the hero with the least amount of health to the one with the most, causing additional damage for each hero killed on the next target.

Thundergod's Wrath

Zeus' ultimate. It allows him to cast lightning bolts directly at enemy heroes, also revealing the area around them. Invisible heroes are hit and revealed, but don’t take damage.

Nimbus

With Aghanim's Scepter Zeus gains the ability to create a cloud of lightning at any point on the map that can be attacked and destroyed.

Nature’s Prophet

I’ve already talked about Nature in a previous article about how this hero can destroy the enemy base by himself, but the highlight here is his ultimate and second ability. Nature can be the team’s Carry, being able to easily take down structures and deal large amounts of damage to enemies.

Teleportation

Nature can teleport to any location on the map, getting a barrier when he reaches his destination.

Wrath of Nature

Casts an energy that bounces from the initial target to enemies within the visible field of the map, dealing damage. It can be cast from the minimap and with Aghanim's Scepter it roots the targets who get hit for a certain amount of time.

invoker

The final member is necessary for the combo. Invoker is an absurd Mid who has several powerful abilities, but what matters here is a single one.

Sunstrike

Combining Exort* three times will give you Sunstrike, which summons a beam of light that can strike any part of the map, dealing damage that scales with Exort’s level to targets inside its area of effect. It’s a very strong ability in the lane phase, where Invoker can kill low-health enemies without being present at the location and with the right skill level, he doesn't even need vision to do it.

[h3(Cataclysm)

But for the combo, what matters is Aghanim's upgrade to Sunstrike, called Cataclysm. With this upgrade, Invoker can cast a rain of fire upon his enemies, causing massive damage to the targets who’re hit.

Executing the Combo

Each hero can build as they wish according to their role, but Aghanim's upgrades are mandatory for the combo’s success. In addition, all three will need another mandatory item in the build, Refresher Orb, which allows you to reset the cooldown of all abilities. So, the combo’ll be performed as follows:

- Zeus uses his ultimate to hit the enemies and reveal them on the map.

- Invoker uses his ultimate in sequence, rooting and causing damage to enemies.

- Invoker uses Cataclysm.

- The Trio activates Refresher and repeats the process, killing the enemy team in a beautiful Rampage. The timing of the Refresher is immediately after the activation of each ultimate, which must be used in the sequence described above.

Tips and Tricks

  • This combo should be executed with a team that communicates beforehand and knows what will be done.
  • Respecting positions is important, but Invoker and Zeus can switch roles if necessary.
  • Nature, on the other hand, should remain as Carry.
  • Zeus can use Nimbus to finish off enemies if someone survives and Nature can teleport to intercept them if they try to escape to their base.
  • The timing of the combo is important, the ultimates must be executed precisely, otherwise it may fail.
  • A good combination with this build is Silencer and Spectre who I mentioned at the start of the article, with Spectre as the Offlane and Silencer in the Dedicated Support role. Silencer can use his ult seconds before the combo and Spectre can finish off by conjuring their illusions to attack the targets, in addition to the possibility of switching places with an illusion to guarantee a kill.

    Final Considerations

This combo is of high complexity, not only because it involves heroes who’re difficult to master, but also because it requires a very high level of refinement and control over the game. However, with enough training, it can prove to be a very useful resource in matches, even the highest level ones.

I conclude here another article. Leave your questions, suggestions, criticisms and/or compliments in the comments. Thank you for reading and see you next time.
