Edit reference

Pokémon UNITE is a multiplayer online battle arena game developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by The Pokémon Company. It launched for Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021, followed by mobile releases for Android and iOS on September 22, 2021. Unlike the main series role playing games, UNITE is built around team battles rather than catching Pokémon for a campaign. Two teams of five Pokémon compete on arenas, defeating wild Pokémon, fighting opponents, and scoring accumulated Aeos energy in opposing goals. Matches generally last ten minutes, with a two minute final phase called the final stretch officially.

At the start of each match, players choose a licensed Pokémon and enter at level one, then gain experience by defeating wild Pokémon or opposing players. Pokémon evolve during a match and learn moves that can be selected or upgraded. Each playable character belongs to an official role category: Attacker, Speedster, All Rounder, Defender, or Supporter. This structure gives characters different expected jobs, but it does not lock players into a fixed story path. Held items provide passive effects, while battle items offer additional active abilities. Players can also use Unite Moves, powerful signature attacks charged through combat and teamwork.

The resource is Aeos energy, earned from wild Pokémon and defeated rivals. A player must carry that energy to an enemy goal zone and channel a score, a process that can be interrupted by damage. Goals do not record points: after a goal is completed, its value is removed from the carrier's total, and the goal's capacity is reduced or destroyed according to the map rules. Rayquaza appears in the Theia Sky Ruins map and can grant a shield that helps a team score. Earlier standard matches used Remoat Stadium, while later maps and modes introduced different layouts and objectives.

UNITE has expanded through regular updates that add playable Pokémon, cosmetic Holowear, balance changes, and temporary events. Its roster has included familiar characters such as Pikachu, Charizard, Lucario, Greninja, and Snorlax, alongside later additions including Zacian, Mew, Miraidon, and Ceruledge. The game is free to start, with optional purchases for Aeos gems and cosmetic content. Ranked Battles provide a competitive ladder, and licenses can be obtained through in game currencies or other progression systems. The title has also supported seasonal celebrations and esports competitions, making its continuing identity depend on live service updates rather than a single completed adventure alone.
