Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog’s upcoming PlayStation 5 game about Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on the distant planet Sempiria.

Edit reference

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a forthcoming PlayStation 5 title from Naughty Dog, first revealed at The Game Awards in December 2024. It is a new Naughty Dog franchise, not an announced continuation of The Last of Us or Uncharted. Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog’s president and studio head, introduced the game and is directing it. The reveal trailer named Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun, the protagonist. Naughty Dog’s published description calls Jordan a dangerous bounty hunter. Her case sends her toward Sempiria, a distant world with an unusually ominous record.

According to the studio, communication between Sempiria and the outside universe went dark hundreds of years before the story. People who flew there seeking to uncover the planet’s past were never heard from again. Jordan becomes stranded there and must rely on her skills and wits to escape. Naughty Dog says that she aims to become the first person in more than 600 years to leave Sempiria’s orbit. Those statements establish the game’s specific premise: a bounty hunter caught on a world whose isolation and history have defeated previous visitors.

Jordan’s casting connected the project to Gabrielle’s prior work with Naughty Dog: she portrayed Nora in HBO’s television adaptation of The Last of Us. Druckmann has said the studio wanted the game to feel grounded while placing it in a future thousands of years ahead. The announcement material presents a retro-futuristic visual approach, including Jordan’s red flight suit, cassette-player imagery, and her ship. The reveal trailer used “It’s a Sin” by Pet Shop Boys. Naughty Dog also announced that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are composing the score, their first video-game score.

Development began in 2020, before Naughty Dog publicly revealed the title. At announcement, the studio had not announced a release date, gameplay format, or a complete supporting cast, so those details remained unconfirmed. What is confirmed is the setting’s time scale: the narrative takes place thousands of years in the future, while Sempiria has been cut off for centuries. That combination gives Jordan’s mission a defined historical problem rather than merely a remote destination. Intergalactic therefore marks Naughty Dog’s next announced original universe for PS5, with its published story centered on Jordan’s attempt to break a six-century pattern of disappearances and get away from Sempiria. Its official debut established those facts without yet explaining Sempiria’s lost civilization or Jordan’s bounty target to players in detail.
