Battlefield Studios has unveiled Rapid Royale, a new mode for Battlefield 6 Redsec inspired by Call of Duty: Warzone’s Resurgence. The mode scales down matches and ramps up the pace of battle royale encounters.

Rapid Royale will feature fewer players and smaller maps than the main mode. The circles will also close more quickly, bringing players together and triggering encounters more frequently. As a result, matches should end sooner than those played in the traditional mode.

The new mode will arrive as part of Season 5, which does not yet have a confirmed release date. The studio has only indicated a release window in the winter of 2026 and said the update is expected to include three new maps, along with other content that has yet to be announced.

Before the fifth season arrives, Battlefield 6 and Redsec will receive the final phase of Season 4, titled Tidal Strike, starting on 15 September. The update will introduce the game’s first version of proximity chat.

Initially, the feature will only be available in battle royale. It will allow players to talk to nearby opponents who are not part of the same squad, with plans to expand it to Battlefield 6’s multiplayer in the future.

Season 4 also added naval combat and the largest map ever released for Battlefield 6. Its second phase introduced a collaboration with Top Gun, a remake of Wake Island, two-seat jets and a reimagined version of Carrier Assault called Carrier Strike.
