Valve has opened reservations for the Steam Frame, its wireless virtual reality headset. The entry-level model with 256GB of storage costs £889, $1,059 or €1,049, while the 1TB version is priced at £1,089, $1,299 or €1,279.The Steam Frame rounds out the hardware lineup Valve unveiled in November 2025, alongside the new Steam Machine and Steam Controller. It is designed as a flexible VR device capable of running less demanding traditional games from the Steam library as well as virtual reality experiences.The headset’s listed features include eye tracking and the ability to run Half-Life: Alyx without a separate PC. Its price, however, puts the Steam Frame above several standalone wireless VR options.The purchase can become more expensive with separately sold accessories. A long-cable USB-C charger costs £29, $29 or €39. The Ergonomic Accessories Kit, which includes Valve Index-style hand straps to replace the controllers’ basic straps, costs £59, $59 or €69. The Accessory Replacement Kit, featuring replacement parts for included items such as facial seals and cushions, is priced at £49, $49 or €59.Valve has adopted a random reservation system for early customers. Those who register between September 14 and 6pm UK time — or 10am Pacific time — on September 17 will receive a randomly assigned place in the order queue after the registration window closes.If demand exceeds initial stock, some customers will be placed on a waiting list. Once this first window closes, new registrations will join the queue in the order they are submitted.
