IO Interactive has announced that 007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027. The game was initially expected this summer, but its release was delayed to an unspecified date in March.

IO Interactive said it needed more development time to deliver the quality players expect. During that time, playable versions of 007 First Light were showcased at gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, giving players and members of the press the chance to try James Bond’s adventure on Nintendo hardware.

According to the studio, both events received a positive response. The team will continue working over the coming months to improve 007 First Light’s optimization and performance on Switch 2 ahead of its debut.

The date announcement also came with the start of pre-orders for the Deluxe Edition, which includes extra outfits and gadgets to use in the game. The title recently received a content update featuring New Game Plus, a new higher difficulty level, photo mode, new TacSim missions and general adjustments.

007 First Light has sold more than 4 million copies since launch. The game is a cinematic single-player adventure starring James Bond, developed by IO Interactive, the studio behind the Hitman series.

007 First Light is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its arrival on Nintendo’s console expands the game’s platform lineup, while IO Interactive is also working on Project Fantasy, an RPG announced as an online project in 2023. The company regained full ownership of the game and said it would continue development independently.
