Agent Spider will be a DLC character in Invincible VS. The reveal came in a new trailer for the fighting game that plays up the character’s similarities to Spider-Man. For now, the video offers no details about his moves or how he will play.Fans of the Invincible animated series will already know Agent Spider. He appears when Angstrom Levy sends Invincible through different dimensions. In one of them, the protagonist meets the web-slinging hero and Professor Ock, another character who evokes the Spider-Man universe. The scene also features a familiar connection for fans: Agent Spider is voiced by Josh Keaton, who played Spider-Man in the animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man and in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.The comparison goes back to the comics. In Marvel Team-Up Vol. 3 #14, published in 2005 and written by Invincible creator Robert Kirkman, Invincible’s trip through the dimensions brings him face to face with Spider-Man himself. The two talk about their powers and their pasts after an encounter that also involves Doctor Octopus. In the TV adaptation, Agent Spider and Professor Ock take the place of the Marvel characters in that scene. Now Agent Spider is joining the Invincible VS roster. The trailer confirms him as DLC, but leaves fighting-game fans with a question: how will his abilities work in combat? It does not give a release date for the character.
