How to Fish, the debut title from developer Dazed Games, sold 1 million copies on Steam in just two days. The cooperative fishing game launched on August 20, and the studio announced the result three days later in a brief post about the game's performance.

In the same message, Dazed Games confirmed that it plans to add more content and fix bugs. The announcement comes as How to Fish remains among the platform's most-played games since its launch.

The game reached a peak of 268.101 concurrent players, a figure that has risen several times since launch day. Its price may also have contributed to the rapid sales: the game costs £3,96 in the UK and US$ 4,95 in the United States, with a 38% launch discount available until August 27.

How to Fish is a physics-based fishing game for up to four players. Its premise, however, goes beyond the traditional use of a fishing rod: players can catch seafood with firearms and explosives. The combination gives the game a more chaotic feel during cooperative matches.

The game also draws on other genres. One mechanic rewards so-called “trick shots”, a term used by the Call of Duty community to describe difficult shots, such as no-scopes. Players can also bet some of the money they earn in-game.

The result was achieved despite the launch coinciding with other highly anticipated events and games, including Mortal Shell 2, the Modern Warfare 4 beta and the closed beta for Wardogs. How to Fish reached 1 million copies sold in two days, while Dazed Games has already indicated that it is working on fixes and new content.
