Stray Dog: nobody cares is a soulslike in development for PC that puts a stray dog at the heart of a war-ravaged kingdom. With a sword clamped in its jaws, the dog sets out to find the knight who took it in—and now needs to be rescued.

Developed by Parry Frames Studio, the game does not yet have a release date. The studio says, however, that its combat system is already complete.

The first video footage showcases Stray Dog: nobody cares, combining dark fantasy, exploration and an unusual protagonist for the genre.

The journey will take players through areas inspired by dark-fantasy settings, where the dog can discover treasures, fight enemies, and collect experience and gold. These resources will be used to unlock new abilities throughout the campaign.

Combat in Stray Dog: nobody cares will feature familiar elements for soulslike fans: precise parries, backstabs and execution attacks. Battles will also include special combat arts designed to expand the range of playstyles available to players.

The levels are expected to offer multiple exploration routes, stealth kills and battles against bosses described as brutal. The sword carried in the dog’s mouth is the defining feature of its combat.

The story unfolds as invading armies ravage villages across the kingdom. Rejected by the locals and treated as a worthless animal, the dog remains on the sidelines of the kingdom’s political conflicts. Its motivation is simple: rescue the disgraced knight who once protected it.

The relationship between the characters recalls that of Artorias and Sif from Dark Souls, centered on the bond between a warrior marked by tragedy and a loyal dog. Even so, Stray Dog: nobody cares tells a story of its own.

Parry Frames Studio also developed Crimson Oath, another soulslike inspired by Berserk that is already available on Steam.
