Bethesda held a closed-door playable presentation of The Elder Scrolls VI this week. The session was shared by Asha Sharma, Xbox's new head, during a visit to the studio, marking the most significant update on the highly anticipated RPG since its announcement teaser was shown in 2018.

Sharma described the experience enthusiastically, highlighting the game's scale, grandeur and story.

“The scale and grandeur are incredible. The story is even bigger.”

- Asha Sharma

Bethesda responded to the post by thanking her for the visit and saying it was great to show Sharma the project. She also mentioned The Elder Scrolls VI's subtitle, but the name was redacted and has yet to be officially revealed.

The presentation took place amid celebrations for the release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Switch 2. Bethesda also released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary on the console late last year. Months later, the studio added a 60 Hz mode and other features to the game through an update.

Despite the demonstration, The Elder Scrolls VI still has no announced release date. The fact that the title is in a playable state indicates that development has progressed, but Bethesda has not said when it plans to reveal further details, including the full subtitle and the platforms that will receive the RPG.

The franchise has not received a new mainline entry since Skyrim, originally released in 2011. For now, the only recent confirmation regarding The Elder Scrolls VI is that Bethesda can already show a playable version of the project in private testing.
