Embark Studios has postponed all future Expeditions for Arc Raiders until early 2027. The decision came after the studio reviewed community feedback and concluded that the system needs more substantial changes than incremental adjustments.

The fifth Expedition will launch on September 8 and remain available until September 29. It will be the last before the pause, which will leave the Rust Belt region with fewer activities of this kind than usual. Embark said it plans to return with meaningful improvements and share more details about them in September.

Expeditions serve as an endgame mechanic: players reset their Raider and start progression over, retaining only a few benefits. The prestige system encourages those who have reached the level cap to work through the skill trees again. During the interruption, however, players will have to remain at the maximum level and wait for the feature to return.

Among the problems Embark cited were tight departure windows, the reward structure and accessibility for new players. The studio also confirmed that consecutive bonuses will remain active during the pause. Anyone who completed all Expeditions will receive the Zenith outfit, while partially completed Caravans will be exchanged for Ermal Vouchers of equivalent value. The vouchers can be used on Ermal offers, exchanged for ARC parts and weapons, or sold for Coin.

The weekly Trials will also be suspended, from September 22 to October 8, 2026. The change comes as the community awaits Frozen Trail, the next major Arc Raiders update, scheduled for October and described by the team as the game's biggest yet, featuring a new map.

Embark confirmed in May its commitment to releasing two major updates a year. The decision on Expeditions has divided players: some acknowledge the need to overhaul the system, while others fear being left without the main form of progression during the wait.
