LEGO Harry Potter Collection

LEGO Harry Potter Collection brings together two Traveller's Tales games: LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. The collection follows Harry Potter's complete school-age story, from his arrival at Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone through the Battle of Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rather than adapting only the films' major confrontations, the games turn many familiar scenes, locations, and magical objects into interactive LEGO puzzles.

Years 1-4 covers Harry's first four years at Hogwarts. Players visit Diagon Alley, enter Hogwarts Castle, attend lessons, explore the Forbidden Forest, and face events involving Voldemort, the Chamber of Secrets, Sirius Black, and the Triwizard Tournament. Its hub structure allows Hogwarts and its surrounding grounds to be revisited as new spells unlock previously inaccessible areas. Characters learn abilities associated with the stories, including Wingardium Leviosa, Lumos, and Polyjuice Potion transformations. The game also includes the first encounter with Lord Voldemort in the graveyard at the end of Goblet of Fire.

Years 5-7 continues with the darker later films while retaining the series' silent slapstick LEGO presentation. It includes Harry's conflict with Dolores Umbridge, the formation of Dumbledore's Army, the battle at the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore's death, the search for Horcruxes, and the final struggle against Voldemort. Major locations include Grimmauld Place, the Ministry, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and parts of the wizarding world visited during Harry, Ron, and Hermione's journey outside school. The game adds more advanced spell use and gives players access to characters from the later story, including members of the Order of the Phoenix and Death Eaters.

The collection was released for PlayStation 4 in 2016 and packages the two original titles with graphical enhancements, environments, visual effects, lighting, and downloadable content. It later arrived on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One in 2018. Its appeal lies in the scale of its adaptation: players can control a large roster of Harry Potter characters, switch between them to solve cooperative puzzles, collect LEGO studs, discover hidden areas, and replay levels in Free Play mode to obtain collectibles that were unavailable during an initial story playthrough.

Like other LEGO games from Traveller's Tales, the collection uses destructible scenery as both comedy and gameplay. Objects can be smashed into bricks and rebuilt into mechanisms, ladders, or other useful creations. Its humor does not replace the source material's plot, but reframes recognizable scenes through visual gags, exaggerated reactions, and LEGO animation.
