Edit reference

*Invincible VS* is an upcoming fighting game set in the world of *Invincible*, the superhero comic created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, with Ryan Ottley later becoming its principal artist. Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025, the game is being developed by Quarter Up, a studio within Skybound Entertainment. It is planned for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Its announcement presented it as a three-on-three tag-team fighter, rather than a retelling of the comic or its animated television adaptation.

The title’s “VS” describes its central format: players assemble teams of three characters and fight against another team. Its reveal footage showed combatants switching places during matches and combining attacks in extended sequences. The presentation also made the violence of *Invincible* unmistakable. Blood, heavy impacts, and destructive superpowered attacks distinguished the footage from a comparatively restrained superhero crossover. Those details connect the game to a series in which spectacular powers often have severe physical consequences, rather than merely providing familiar costumes for a conventional fighting roster.

Characters shown in the game’s early promotion include Mark Grayson, the young hero known as Invincible, and his father, Omni-Man. Atom Eve, whose powers allow her to manipulate matter, and the Viltrumite warrior Thula were also among the announced fighters. Their inclusion draws on different parts of *Invincible*’s cast: Mark and Eve are central heroes, while Omni-Man and Thula bring the conflicts surrounding the Viltrumite Empire into the roster. In a tag fighter, that selection matters not only for recognition but also because each character needs a distinct way to move, attack, and contribute to a team.

Quarter Up’s involvement is another specific part of the project’s history. Skybound introduced the studio alongside *Invincible VS*, and its team includes developers with experience on the 2013 *Killer Instinct* fighting game. That background is relevant to the game’s announced focus on competitive, combo-driven combat. Skybound, which is closely associated with the *Invincible* property, is publishing the game.

As announced, *Invincible VS* is a separate video-game project within a franchise that began as an Image Comics series in 2003 and later reached a wider audience through an animated series on Prime Video. Its confirmed identity is narrower and clearer than a general “superhero game”: it is a team-based fighter built around named *Invincible* characters, rapid character changes, and the series’ conspicuously brutal approach to superpowered conflict.
