Everywhere is an in-development game from Build A Rocket Boy, the Edinburgh studio founded by Leslie Benzies, the former president of Rockstar North. Benzies was a producer and studio leader during the development of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Grand Theft Auto V. Build A Rocket Boy announced Everywhere in 2017, but the project remained largely secret for several years.
The game received its first substantial public reveal at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live in August 2022. The trailer presented Everywhere as a connected, science-fiction-inspired experience containing multiple worlds and activities rather than as one conventional single-player campaign. Public descriptions emphasize exploration, social play, user-generated content, and the ability for players to create and share experiences. The project is intended to let players move between different kinds of content, including competitive activities, social spaces, and authored adventures.
Build A Rocket Boy has described Everywhere through the ideas “Build, Play, Share.” Its creator technology, called Arcadia, is designed to allow players to make locations, games, and interactive experiences without requiring the same development resources as a traditional commercial studio. The company has presented Arcadia as a central part of Everywhere’s identity, although the publicly shown material has not established a complete plot, release date, or final list of launch features.
Everywhere is also associated with MindsEye, a separate narrative action game developed by Build A Rocket Boy. MindsEye is set in a fictional near-future version of the American Southwest and follows Jacob Diaz, a former soldier fitted with a mysterious neural implant. It was announced as a standalone game and is not simply a renamed version of Everywhere. Build A Rocket Boy has nevertheless connected both projects through its wider technology and publishing plans, which has caused some public discussion about how the two games relate.
The company partnered with IO Interactive’s publishing division for MindsEye, while Everywhere has continued to be described as Build A Rocket Boy’s broader platform and multiplayer project. Unlike a traditional title with a fixed campaign, Everywhere’s eventual form depends heavily on its creation tools, online infrastructure, and the experiences the studio and its community produce. As of the latest widely reported information, Build A Rocket Boy has not confirmed a public release date for Everywhere. Its known history therefore consists primarily of long-term development, staged reveals, and an ambitious attempt to combine game creation, social interaction, and playable worlds in one persistent framework.
